# Tiered passport allowance — never per-scan

Each plan includes a passport count, overage is metered at a published rate, and the rate drops as your catalogue grows. Annual billing saves about two months versus monthly. We don't charge per scan, per SKU, or per consumer view — your bill is tied to what you control: how many passports you publish.

## Pricing FAQ

### What if I need more than 5,000 passports per month?

Talk to us. Battery, EV, tyre, and high-volume electronics manufacturers with serial-level mandates routinely run into the 100K – 10M+ passports/year range, and the standard overage rates make those deals economically untenable. We have a serial-volume bundle with marginal-cost pricing that makes the unit economics work at scale; the contract is annual or multi-year with custom SLA. Drop us a line at info@tracepass.eu.

### Per scan? Per SKU? Per consumer view?

None of the above. We charge per published passport — that's the unit you control. Scan-based pricing makes your DPP bill a function of your customers' behaviour (a viral product spike can 10× your invoice overnight); per-SKU undercounts variants and serial-level mandates; per-consumer-view is identical to per-scan with extra steps. Per-passport tiers map to a number a procurement team can budget for.

### What's included on every paid plan?

GS1 Digital Link QR codes, the public passport viewer (HTML + JSON-LD content negotiation), tenant-wide bulk export at no extra charge, the custom-domain QR resolver (so the URL on the printed QR is portable forever), full audit trail, and 30-day grace post-cancellation so QR codes don't brick mid-migration. ### Annual vs monthly billing?

Annual is about two months cheaper than monthly. The discount mirrors industry-standard 15–20% annual savings; we apply it consistently across all paid plans. Annual subscriptions are billed upfront. You can switch annual ↔ monthly at renewal time without penalty.

### What if I cancel?

30-day grace at no charge. Your published Digital Product Passports remain publicly resolvable for 30 days after cancellation so QR codes printed on physical products don't brick mid-migration. If you operated on a custom domain (every paid plan), the grace window is the time to re-point your DNS at another vendor — the URL on the printed QR is yours forever because the domain is yours. Your data is exported in JSON-LD on demand at no fee. See the Terms of Service.

### Can I downgrade?

Yes. Downgrades that reduce the passport cap below your active count may trigger an overage charge on the remaining passports at the new plan's per-passport rate; we warn you before you confirm. Upgrades apply immediately with prorated charges.

### Is there a free trial — and what happens at the end of it?

Yes — the Free tier lets you create three passports end-to-end, including AI extraction, GS1 QR code generation, and the public passport page. There is no time limit and no credit card required. When you need more passports or want category-specific templates beyond batteries, you upgrade to a paid plan; nothing is suspended automatically.

### Does EPCIS cost extra?

EPCIS 2.0 — export, capture and query — is included on every plan, Free included. Tiers differ by event volume per month (Free 10, Basic 1,000, Starter 10,000, Growth 100,000, Scale 1,000,000, Pro 10,000,000, Enterprise unlimited). On paid plans, overage past the included allowance is opt-in at a per-1,000-event block rate that decreases as the tier grows. Free hitting its cap requires an upgrade to keep capturing. ### Can an AI assistant connect to TracePass?

Yes — TracePass ships a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so AI assistants like Claude or Cursor can manage products, passports, and EPCIS events directly. It's included on every plan, Free included, at no extra cost — it authenticates with the same API key as the REST API. Use the hosted endpoint or the local npm package.

### Is there an n8n / no-code automation integration?

Yes — TracePass ships a verified n8n community node (n8n-nodes-tracepass), free under the MIT license. Install it from any n8n instance via Settings → Community Nodes, authenticate with your existing TracePass API key, and wire products, passports, and EPCIS events into workflows alongside Shopify, Slack, Schedule, and 400+ other integrations.
